Making professions tangible: Orientation at Marklohe High School

As part of their practical career orientation program, students in grades 8 through 10 at OBS Marklohe explored their professional futures in depth last week.

In addition to a presentation about FRERK, they gained practical insights into our apprenticeship programs:

- Using bending tools, they created a FRERK elephant from a stainless steel blank – a first glimpse into the profession of construction mechanic (m/f/d)

- Exercises in professional electrical cable processing and assembly into a connector – a preview of the apprenticeship as an electronics technician (m/f/d) for industrial systems

Secure (emergency) power supply through genuine craftsmanship: In these apprenticeships, you'll learn firsthand how modern backup power supply systems work. You'll help make critical infrastructure such as hospitals and data centers crisis-proof. Your work ensures that the lights never go out, even during power outages or under extreme conditions in deserts and ice.

The FRERK team was thrilled to see how enthusiastically everyone participated and tried things out! The hands-on exercises led to excellent discussions and great feedback. Many thanks to all participants!
